The four pillars
One partner across the
whole technology stack.
Most businesses end up with a developer, an integrator, an automation consultant and an agency — four suppliers, four roadmaps, and nobody accountable for the whole. GTX Digital covers all four.

What the X stands for
Golden
Triangle X.
GTX is short for Golden Triangle X. The triangle is where we work — the corridor between Birmingham, Nottingham and Northampton that carries more of the UK’s logistics, manufacturing and distribution business than anywhere else in the country.
The X is what we do inside it: transformation, technology, and whatever comes next.
- Senior engineers only — no juniors learning on your budget
- You own the source code, the data and the hosting
- Fixed scope and fixed price on every phase, agreed before we start
- On-site when it matters, which is most of the time on complex builds
Where the work comes from
The sectors we build for.
These are the industries that define the Golden Triangle, and the systems each one keeps asking us for. If yours is not listed, the underlying problems are usually the same.

How an engagement runs
Four stages. No surprises in any of them.
-
Stage 01
Discover
We map how the business actually operates today — systems, handoffs, spreadsheets, workarounds. Most of the value is found here, before a line of code exists.
-
Stage 02
Define
A written technical scope with costs, dependencies and a delivery order. You approve it before build starts, and it is what we are held to.
-
Stage 03
Deliver
Built in two-week increments on your own infrastructure, with a working environment you can log into from week one. Nothing is a black box.
-
Stage 04
Develop
Handover with documentation and training, then an optional retained arrangement for support, iteration and the next phase of the roadmap.
Capabilities
The work, in practice.
A selection of what businesses across the Golden Triangle bring to us. If yours is not listed, it is almost certainly still in scope.
-
01
Bespoke business software
Job management, quoting, scheduling, compliance and reporting systems written for one business rather than a whole market.
-
02
Web platforms & SaaS
Multi-tenant products, subscription billing, role-based access and the admin tooling a commercial platform needs to be run by people who are not developers.
-
03
Mobile apps
iOS and Android for field teams, drivers, engineers and customers — including offline-first apps that keep working where the signal does not.
-
04
System integration
CRM, ERP, finance, WMS, payroll and third-party APIs wired together with proper error handling, retries and an audit trail.
-
05
AI & intelligent workflows
Document extraction, classification, drafting and decision support built into the systems your team already uses — not as a separate chat window.
-
06
Data & reporting
One version of the numbers. Warehousing, dashboards and board reporting that reconcile, pulled from source rather than assembled by hand.
-
07
SEO, AEO & GEO
Technical and content work aimed at classic search, answer engines and AI assistants — the three places B2B buyers now start.
-
08
Legacy replacement
Getting a business off an unsupported system without stopping trading — migration, parallel running and a route back if a phase goes wrong.
Where we work
Technology for the
Midlands Golden Triangle.
The Golden Triangle is the stretch of the Midlands bounded roughly by Birmingham, Nottingham and Northampton, tied together by the M1, M6, M42 and A14. It is the centre of gravity for UK logistics, distribution and advanced manufacturing — and for the professional firms that serve them.
That matters for a technology partner. Businesses here run on tight operational margins, physical movement and fixed delivery windows. Software that ignores that reality does not survive contact with the warehouse floor.
-
01
Birmingham & Solihull
Corporate head offices, professional services and the UK’s second-largest business community.
-
02
Nottingham & Derby
Manufacturing, engineering and a deep technology and digital sector.
-
03
Leicester & Coventry
Distribution, automotive supply chain and fast-scaling mid-market businesses.
-
04
Northampton & the A14
National distribution centres and the logistics operators that run them.
The Golden Triangle, in numbers
Why this corridor runs the country’s supply chain.
The Midlands Golden Triangle is not a marketing phrase — it is a measured geography. These are the figures that explain why so much of Britain’s distribution, manufacturing and supply-chain technology sits inside it.
- 289 square miles The area the ONS uses for the golden logistics triangle — about half the size of London. ONS, 2022
- 90% of Britain, in 4 hours The triangle is defined as the zone within a four-hour drive of 90% of the British population. ONS, 2022
- 88% more logistics premises Transport, logistics and warehousing premises in 2021 against 2011 — and 21% up on 2019 alone. ONS, 2022
- £5.6bn of new warehousing New warehouse construction orders placed in 2021 — more than in any year since 1985. ONS, 2022
- 17% of Rugby’s businesses Warehousing’s share of business units in Rugby, Warwickshire — the highest of any UK local authority. ONS, 2022
- 20% jobs growth, not 88% Transport and storage employment rose 20% over the decade to 2021 while premises rose 88%. The gap is automation. ONS, 2022

Straight answers
Questions we get asked first.
Short, direct answers to what businesses across the Golden Triangle actually ask us — including what the Golden Triangle is, and why it changes how software has to be built.
What is the Midlands Golden Triangle?
The Midlands Golden Triangle — also called the golden logistics triangle — is the area of the English Midlands with the UK’s highest concentration of warehousing and distribution. It is usually drawn between Birmingham, Nottingham and Northampton, along the M1, M6, M42 and A14. The Office for National Statistics defines it as the roughly 289 square miles within a four-hour drive of 90% of the British population, an area about half the size of London. The name dates from the late 1980s, when distribution first clustered around Magna Park at Lutterworth.
Which towns and cities are in the Golden Triangle?
The corners are Birmingham, Nottingham and Northampton. Inside and along its edges sit Leicester, Coventry, Derby, Rugby, Lutterworth, Tamworth, Solihull, Daventry, Wolverhampton and Milton Keynes. GTX Digital works across all of them, and the specific postcode matters far less than the operating model: these are businesses that move physical goods to fixed deadlines.
Why does the Golden Triangle matter for a software project?
Because it changes what the software has to survive. Businesses here run on tight operational margins, physical movement and fixed delivery windows — a late despatch is a missed cut-off, not an inconvenience. Systems built for office workflows tend to fail on a warehouse floor: no signal in the yard, gloved hands on a scanner, a driver who needs three taps and not a form. We design for that first.
What size of business do you work with?
Typically 25 to 750 staff — medium-sized, corporate and enterprise organisations where a technology decision carries real operational consequence. Below that an off-the-shelf product is usually the honest answer, and we will say so rather than sell a build.
Do we own what you build?
Yes. Source code, data, infrastructure and documentation are yours, held in your own repositories and cloud accounts from day one. There is no licence that expires and no hosting you cannot leave. If you replace us, you lose a supplier, not your systems.
How is a project priced?
Fixed price per phase against a written scope. Discovery is priced and delivered on its own first, so you can take the output elsewhere if you decide not to continue — and so nobody is committing to a build before the problem is understood. Change is handled as a priced change, not as a surprise on an invoice.
How long before a new system is live?
Most first phases run eight to sixteen weeks from signed scope to a system in live use, with two to three weeks of discovery ahead of that. Work is delivered in two-week increments on your own infrastructure, so you can log into a working environment from week one rather than waiting for a reveal.
Can you work alongside our existing IT team or supplier?
Regularly. We are often brought in for the parts an internal team has no capacity or specialism for, and we work to their standards, their stack and their release process. We are equally happy to hand over completely and leave.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO aims at the ranked list of links. AEO — Answer Engine Optimisation — aims at the direct answer shown above it, which is assembled from structured data and clearly-stated facts rather than from whoever ranks first. GEO — Generative Engine Optimisation — aims at being cited by an AI assistant answering a question in conversation. They share technical foundations but reward different things, and in B2B a growing share of research now starts on the second and third.
Do you only work in the Midlands?
The Golden Triangle is our base and where we work on site. We deliver for clients across the UK, but on a complex build being able to put people in the room is worth more than it sounds — most of the value in discovery comes from watching how a business actually operates, not from a video call.
